Notes: Rare second edition of a guide for settlers and officials in the colonies. The author was a noted abolitionist, Christian, classicist, author, and musician; he was one of the earliest British campaigners against slavery. Sharp devised a plan to settle freed and runaway black slaves in Sierra Leone and thus founded Freetown in that country in 1787 - he is now considered one of the founding fathers of the nation.
