Initial and terminal blanks plus half-title present. Containing 96 illustrations, 64 being from photographs and 32 in colour from paintings by E. W. Christmas, with fold-out colour map to rear. Condition: Binding tight, secure and square. Very slight bumping to spine ends. The covers and contents very well-preserved. Without previous ownership markings.

Notes: Handsome second edition, one of five thousand copies printed. Written by William Henry Koebel (1872-1923), an English author best known for his travel works on Portugal, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Beautifully illustrated by Ernest William Christmas (1863-1918), an Australian painter known for his landscape art.
