Condition: VERY GOOD. Collated complete. Bindings tight and secure, the hinges and joints intact. Light sunning to spines. Interiors very well-preserved. Neat gift inscription to front endpaper. A handsome set.
Notes: Consisting of volume 1: Ducks and Their Allies (Swans, Geese and Ducks), and, volume 2: Snipes, Bustards and Sand-Grouse. A third volume was published later, in 1930. The work was first published in India in a series of intermittent issues published by the Bombay Natural History Society beginning in 1915. The format then was in octavo. The second edition, published in London in 1921 is a much larger quarto format, with a grand appearance worthy of the spectacular illustrations of birds, in particular those of J.G. Keulemans and H. Gronvold.
