Contents largely clean with some light scattered foxing mostly to volumes 2&3. Without previous ownership markings. Lacking dust wrappers. A scarce complete set and very well-preserved.

Notes: Rare complete set of famed British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter's popular account of the discovery of the intact tomb of the 18th Dynasty Pharaoh, Tutankhamun (also known as "King Tut"), in November 1922. Volume I by Carter and Mace. Volumes II and III by Howard Carter alone. In the original brown cloth with gilt scarab in the centre of the front panel with black background, all letters in gilt, with decorated endpapers. Volume I with 105 illustrations, Volume II with 153 illustrations and Volume III with 156 illustrations. These illustrations are in fact photographs by Harry Burton of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
