Publisher's original red cloth with white title plate to spines, fore edges uneven. Initial and terminal blanks plus half-titles present. Title-pages in red and black. Both volumes with a facsimile title-page from the first edition. Illustrated - Volume I: Frontispiece, plus 35 other double-page colour plates mainly by Cruikshank. Wood-engraved vignette on title page and 28 other wood-engraved in text illustrations; Volume II: 36 double-page colour plates by Cruikshank & 8 wood engravings. Printed by Turnbull and Spears, Edinburgh. Condition: GOOD to VERY GOOD. Bindings tight and secure. Covers with some minor splash marks. Contents very clean, couple of leaves with light foxing, some spotting to fore edges. Without previous ownership markings.
