Spine with five raised bands; gilt ruling, tooling and lettering; morocco lettering-pieces in second and third compartments. Marbled boards, page edges and endpapers. Initial and terminal blanks plus half-titles present. Title-pages with vignette. Hundreds of in-the-text illustrations. General Index at front of vol. I., followed by errata. Supplements in two parts, bound to rear of volume II. Printed by Samuel Bentley. Provenance: Armorial bookplate of Sir John Peter Boileau to front pastedown of each volume. Condition: GOOD. Collated complete. Bindings tight and secure, with hinges intact, extremities and joints slightly rubbed, light dulling to spines. Interiors largely well-preserved with just a touch of light scattered foxing, mostly to endleaves. Old auction sticker to upper board of second volume. A lovely set.
