FIRST EDITION THUS; leather-bound in eight volumes, quarto (28cm x 16cm), consisting of: The Histories in two volumes, The Comedies in two volumes, The Tragedies in two volumes, Doubtful Plays in one volume, and a Biography in one volume.  English text in double columns. Bound in contemporary half leather, the spines with gilt titles, top page edges gilt, yellow endpapers, each volume with an engraved title-page, profusely illustrated throughout, printed footnotes. Condition: GOOD. Bindings tight and secure. Light rubbing and handling to covers. Interiors with just a touch of light foxing mostly to endpapers, else excellent. Small bookplate to front pastedowns.
