Beautifully bound in full polished calf gilt by Bayntun-Riviere, Bath, England; spine in compartments with contrasting lettering-pieces; all page edges gilt; marbled endpapers; half-title; decorative title-page; numerous b&w drawings throughout as chapter head- and tail-pieces. Printed in Great Britain by T. and A. Constable. Condition: NEAR FINE. A couple of trivial surface marks to boards, otherwise an immaculate copy, without previous ownership markings. Stunning.
Notes: This wonderful edition contains four tales: "The Sleeping Beauty," "Blue Beard," "Cinderella," and "Beauty and the Beast" in artful retelling by Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch, beautifully illustrated by Edmund Dulac in the form of 30 full-page colour plates in his inimitable style. Presented in a sumptuous binding by Bayntun-Riviere, signed in an ink palette to the front endpaper.
