First edition, four parts in one (complete), leather-bound, hardcover, small octavo (16cm x 11.5cm x 2.2cm), pp. [4], 93; 54; 51; 57. English text, translated from the German by H. V. Bound in contemporary tree calf, the spine and boards gilt ruled and tooled, marbled page edges and endpapers, with 4 hand-coloured wood-engraved plates by J. B. Sonderland. Contents: The Merchant of Balsora; The two Talismans; The Adventures of Haschem; The three trials. First two tales printed by G. Norman, Maiden Lane, Covent Garden; second two tales printed by John Wilson, Victoria Bridge, Salford. Condition: FAIR. Both joints cracked and the boards holding by the cords, spine ends rubbed with minor losses. Interior largely well-preserved, with some inked notes on two blank pages, previous owner details to front endpaper. Exceedingly scarce.
