Leather-bound miniature, contained in a plain metal case with circular magnifying glass-window, book size: 27 x 18 x 7 mm., case size: 34 x 28 x 10 mm., pp. 384. English text. Bound in publisher's original red leather with "Bryce's English Dictionary" on front cover and (vertically) "Pears" on the rear cover, yellow page edges and endpapers, half-title, engraved portrait of Johnson as frontispiece. Condition: VERY GOOD. A well-preserved example. Scarce.

Notes: Bryce published six of these charming miniatures in the 1890s, all contained in a metal box.
