Leather-bound, hardcover, miniature (2cm x 1.5cm x 0.6cm), unpaginated. English text. Bound in publisher's contemporary calf, spine with four bands, covers gilt, red dyed page edged, blue patterned endpapers. With 6 engraved plates (portraits of illustrious persons) by Letitia E. Landon, and musical scores to the final few leaves. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight and secure, the hinges and joints perfectly intact, contents complete and very well-preserved. Scarce.

Notes: " Between 1836 and 1843, there appeared in London a series of all-engraved almanacs of quite exceptional quality, published by Albert Schloss, Fancy Stationer to Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Kent. For the first three years they were called The English Bijou Almanac and from 1839 to 1843 Schloss's English Bijou Almanac. They are true miracles of engraving, illustration, binding and presentation." (Bondy, Miniature books).
