RARE 19TH CENTURY BOTANISTS HERBARIUM ALBUMS OF DRIED MOSSES

A rare and important set of two herbarium albums containing approximately 130 dried and pressed mosses arranged on individual sheets, collected from across the United Kingdom between 1868 and 1869 by an unknow person; all with ink manuscript captions with name, collection date and location. The albums are beautifully and tightly bound in full morocco by Ferrier of Edinburgh. Size of each album approximately 19 x 15 x 4.5 cm. The specimens within remain largely very well-preserved.
