Notes: Very rare first edition in English of Gandhi's autobiography. A book, which has been regarded as one of the '100 best spiritual books of the 20th century'. It was originally written in weekly instalments published in his journal 'Navjivan' from 1925 to 1929. The English instalments also appeared in his other journal 'Young India'. In the original publisher's cloth binding in good condition. This is the first volume of two regarding Gandhi's life. This was all that was issued at the time of publication, with the second volume appearing in 1929. The two volumes are seldom found together.
