Notes: A.E. Waite's translation Eliphas Levi's notable "Transcendental Magic." Dr. R.A. Gilbert observes that Waite had been unable to provide a fully annotated translation of the text in his original publication of the work in 1896, but did so for the 1923 edition (of which this is a reprint) "The annotations are extensive, for Waite had worked on them sporadically for seven years".
