Manuscript mathematics exercise book on practical geometry. Complete in one volume. Leather-bound. Hardcover. Quarto (260 x 210 x 25 mm). 203 leaves. English and numerical script - entirely manuscript on paper. Bound in handsome contemporary half leather, marbled paper-covered boards, marbled page edges. The manuscript is written in black ink on quality paper by an accomplished hand, large chapter headings, diagrams, tables and a coloured illustration in the text. Condition: GOOD. Binding tight and secure the hinges intact, with slight rubbing to boards and extremities. Interior with some marginal staining but largely well-preserved. Scarce thus.

Notes: Beautiful and very well-preserved book of mathematical problems relating to various aspects of geometry. The book is an excellent addition to the collection of those who delight in seeing the products of education in first half of 19th century. The book has sections covering geometrical definitions, 31 geometrical problems, trigonometry, mensuration of superficies in 23 problems, mensuration of solids in 20 problems, use of the sliding rule in 6 problems, timber measure, computing distances, algebra, subtraction, fractions, equations, and many others.
