EUROPEAN GRAND TOUR PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM CIRCA 1880s-1890s GREECE, ATHENS, MYCENAE, THESSALONICA, CONSTANTINOPLE, ROUEN, RHEIMS, HOLLAND ETC.

A large oblong album in contemporary half leather (37cm x 28cm x 4.5cm), containing 92 albumen print photographs of various sizes, mostly of locations in Greece - Athens and the surrounding area, including many views of the Acropolis and Parthenon, Thessalonica, and Mycenae; with some portraits of individuals wearing traditional costumes. Also represented are locations in Turkey - Constantinople, France - Rouen and Rheims, and Holland - Leyden and Amsterdam. Circa 1880s -1890s, mounted on both sides of 22 thick card leaves, some with ink captions in English. Condition: GOOD. Binding rubbed to the joints and extremities, the upper joint starting slightly. Photographs generally very good to excellent. Scarce thus.
