First editions. Two books in one - the first book in three parts. Leather-bound. Hardback. Octavo (225 x 150 x 25 mm). Unpaginated throughout. Book one with 6 pages of text, [55] leaves of plates. Book two engraved throughout, title-page and 26 plates (no. 2-27) and 12-page publisher's catalogue at end. English text. Bound in full black morocco, gilt titles to upper cover. Each part consists of a title-page and a number of engraved plates. Each title-page with publisher's advertisement on verso (book one only). English short title catalogue, T152601 & T125333. Harris, E. British architectural books and writers 915. Provenance: Inscribed to front endpaper by William Walker of Victoria Foundry, York - his details in gilt to upper cover. Condition: GOOD. Collated complete. Joints starting slightly, the spine ends slightly rubbed, all holding well. Mild toning, spotting and thumbing throughout, the main title-page with some old inking in the fore margin. An extremely scarce collection in sound condition.
