English text, translated from the Norwegian by Hubert Majendie Gepp. Beautifully bound in full calf gilt, cross-hatching to panels, all page edges gilt, marbled endpapers, portrait frontispiece with tissue guard, with numerous illustrations and a map of Southern Greenland, rear index in double columns. Printed by Ballantyne, Hanson & Co. Condition: NEAR FINE. Binding tight and secure, the joints and hinges intact. Covers very well-preserved. Some light foxing to endpapers but largely fresh and clean. Prize plate to front pastedown. An excellent copy.
