Bound in publisher's original red cloth covers with gilt titles and design, all page edges gilt, black coated endpapers, half-title, illustrated frontispiece, numerous b&w illustrations. Printed by R. Clay, Sons and Taylor of London. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight and secure, the joints and hinges intact. Slight rubbing to spine ends and points. A couple of small marks to covers with slight darkening to spine. Interior largely fresh and clean with just a touch of foxing to frontispiece and title-page. Previous owner details neatly to half-title page. An excellent early copy and scarce thus.
