Bound in publisher's navy blue cloth with elaborate gilt embossed decoration to both upper cover and spine. Top edge gilt, other edges dyed blue. Pictorial endpapers with line drawings, one man distinctly reminiscent of the artist himself. 12 colour plates with captions printed below. Numerous line drawings in the text. Printed at the Temple Press. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight, secure and square. Covers very well-preserved. Interior with light browning to endpapers, else very clean. School prize plate to front pastedown and gilt armorial crest to rear board. A handsome copy.
