FIRST EDITION; leather bound, hardcover, quarto (29 x 22 x 2.5 cm), unpaginated. English text, with 39 engraved portraits, each with a tissue guard. Handsomely bound in publisher's original full crimson morocco gilt, all edges gilt, yellow endpapers. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight and secure. Slight rubbing to extremities, the upper board with a small abrasion. Interior largely very well-preserved with some trivial foxing. An excellent copy. Scarce thus.
