Handsomely bound in contemporary full tan calf, the covers with a gilt border composed of two fillets; the spine divided into six panels with gilt compartments, lettered in the second and third on a morocco label, the others tooled with flowers and sprigs, the edges of the boards similarly gilt ruled, turn-ins blind ruled, marbled endleaves and page edges, initial and terminal blanks present, illustrated with various plans, extensive footnotes and sidenotes, indexes in double columns to rear of volume II. Printed by Gilbert and Rivington, London. Contents volume I: Intro, Clio, Euterpe, Thalia, Melpomene. Contents volume II: Terpsichore, Erato, Polymnia, Urania, Calliope, Indexes. Condition: GOOD to VERY GOOD. Collated complete. Bindings tight and secure, the hinges intact. Some rubbing and light shelf wear to covers. Textblock remarkebly fresh and clean, else for some light foxing to endpapers. Scarce.
