Condition: VERY GOOD. Collated complete. Bindings tight and secure. Slight damp-stain to lower cover of volume 1. Interiors well-preserved. Scarce thus.
Notes: Rare author's presentation copy of this classic account of the 1911-1914 Australian Antarctic Expedition led by Douglas Mawson - inscribed to the General who supported his efforts to find war work after the expedition. The expedition discovered 1,320 miles of land, including the Mertz, Denman, and Scott Glaciers; the Davis Sea; and mapped 800 miles of coastline between Gaussberg and Cape Adare, along Adelie Land coast and beyond.
