FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. Leather-bound; hardcover; octavo (22 x 13 x 3 cm); pp. x, 375. English text, translated from the French by George Paris Monke. Handsomely bound in contemporary tree calf; red morocco lettering-piece; initial and terminal blanks present; section of notes to rear. Condition: Lacking leaf H5 (perhaps censorship) but otherwise complete. Binding tight and secure, with some light rubbing to the extremities. Interior very well-preserved and without previous ownership markings. Scarce.
