[BARRIE, JAMES MATTHEW]. The Little Minister. New York: Thomas Y. Crowell Company, n.d. [circa 1910].

REPRINT. Signed by author; cloth-bound; hardcover; octavo (21 x 14 x 3 cm); pp. ix, 454. English text. Bound in publisher's original green cloth; spine and front cover elaborately gilt decorated; t.e.g., fore edge uncut; title-page printed in red and black; 13 b&w photographic plates from the theatrical production. Nicely signed and inscribed by the author to the front endpaper: 'With all best wishes, yours sincerely, J.M. Barrie'. Condition: VERY GOOD. Binding tight, secure and square. Covers well-preserved with light dulling to spine. Interior largely fresh and clean, one leaf with a small fore edge tear. Bookplate to front pastedown. Scarce thus.

Notes: Rare signed reprint of the US edition, no indication of a date on the copyright page but probably circa 1910, with J.M Barrie's inscription dated 1919. The Little Minister is set in Thrums, a Scottish weaving village based on Barrie's birthplace, and concerns Gavin Dishart, a young impoverished minister with his first congregation.
