The spine and both covers beautifully gilt-tooled with stylized Art Nouveau designs consisting of gilt line panels and dotted rolls enclosing emblematic centre tools with a motif of grapes and grape foliage. The spine titled with gilt lettering in the second compartment. Board edges with gilt-tooled diagonal lines at the corners. Fancy floral gilt-tooled inner dentelles. Hand marbled pastedowns and endpapers. All page edges gilt. Half-title. Title-page with classical vignette. Condition: NEAR FINE. The binding is tight and secure. Covers near pristine with just a tiny hint of creasing along the spine. The contents are suited to the binding, notably crisp and bright, there is one small mark to the fore edge and a neatly inked previous owner signature to fep.
