Hardcover. Leather-bound. Small format, 12mo (145 x 90 mm.), pp. 322, [2 - errata & contents]: frontispiece (folded map).  Bound in contemporary half calf, smooth spine gilt. Marbled boards and endpapers. Condition: FAIR to GOOD. Rebacked retaining the original spine, new endpapers. Slight rubbing to boards and extremities. Contents toned. Scarce.

Notes: Produced by George Alexander Cooke, editor of the Universal system of geography. Illustrated with a small map of the County. This apparently formed part of a 47 vol. set with the title: The modern British traveller: or, Tourist's pocket directory. Likely originally published by C. Cooke in the first quarter of the 19th century.  The same set also published under the title: Topography of Great Britain: or, British traveller's directory. Each volume a stand-alone book with a separate title-page.
